Airport destination: Christchurch Airport, South Island New Zealand (unless otherwise advised)

Hunting seasons: late February through mid August each year (general season for New Zealand, later hunts available for Australia)

Importation of firearms: Fraser Safaris NZ will assist with paperwork and instructions for bringing in your hunting rifle and/or shotgun. We also have a selection of quality-scoped rifles & shotguns at the lodge, should you not wish to bring your own.

Suggested rifle caliber & likely shooting distance: between 6mm - .300 magnums is fine for Stag & smaller species, minimum .270 for bull Tahr, shooting distance is usually between 100 and 300 yards. We have a bench-rest & 100 yard target for checking sights on arrival to lodge.

A 50% deposit is required to book a hunt date. (this deposit may be broken into two payments of 25%, depending on how far out your hunt date is being booked for). The total balance is paid at the conclusion of the hunt.

Package hunts are not discounted in the event that an included packaged species is not taken (assuming that reasonable opportunity has been available). In the event of cancellation, no refund of deposit is made, however your deposit can be transferred to someone else you organize for the same booked date and year.

Method of Payment: - we accept personal checks, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), Travelers checks& cash.

Your guide is responsible for giving you an assessment of likely score before shooting. In the event of a Gold medal Stag being taken, without your prior consent of an additional trophy fee, then no additional trophy fee will be charged.

Wounded & lost trophies are charged at 100% of value.

Tahr, Chamois & Fallow are the best quality we can find of SCI Record Book quality.

Mt.Cecil is a property of around 15,000 acres, several thousand acres of the native hill country is high fenced and is known as the hunting estate.

We have very good free-range foot hunting areas for both Tahr bulls & Chamois bucks, that is achievable for most physical fitness levels, without need for helicopter access.

Hunt days do not include day of arrival or day of departure to/from the lodge.

Non hunters/observers can hunt additional species for trophy fee cost only during any hunt
